Like white Puerto Rican sands through the hourglass...
I haven't been on a real vacation in a very long time. I've had time off, but whenever I've had the time to go anywhere it's been back to California to see my mom and other family. It's not that I went to California out of obligation or guilt. It's basically the fact that in the past 4 years (back in college), if I wanted to go anywhere else, I had to pay for it myself. And I figured California isn't so bad of a place to go on Spring Break, especially considering a lot of people I have met out in New York have never been to California. Hence, no real vacation. And when I say vacation, I mean either somewhere tropical or foreign, or both.

When my friend Toni mentioned that her parents have a house in Puerto Rico (well she's been mentioning this to me for a long time) we both said we should plan a trip. In saying this, I was serious but wasn't sure if it would ever happen, with money always being an issue. But it is happening!! AJ, Toni, and I have been waiting for PR for a while since about 2 months ago when we booked the plane tickets. And now we are leaving a week from tomorrow!

I love that I told myself I would be in good shape by the time I left. Who was I kidding. No one can get in bathing suit shape in 2 months unless they had a nutrionist cooking and feeding them the proper food and portions and a daily personal trainer. So in a week I don't know how much more progress I can make. It's been a slow but I feel gradually steady road. I've been good about what I've been eating and I've made it a point to work out at least 3 if not 4 times a week. I have a personal trainer but I can only afford him once a week. That's a lot of effort right?
So in an attempt to look semi-decent on the white sands of Puerto Rico, I ordered a "slimming" bathing suit from J.Crew. I don't know how much a bathing suit can do in the slimming department. I feel like just the act of putting one on makes you look 10 lbs. heavier.
I'll let you (whoever reads this) know how the "slimming" bathing suit works out. Maybe it'll work. J.Crew rarely does me wrong. In fact the only thing J.Crew does negatively is the affect it has on my credit card. Oh, but I love it so.
